About

Hello and Welcome! I’m Victoria Reid (VMR), founder, writer, editor, and Jill-of-all-trades for On Any Sunday, These Days. I’m a 26 year-old roadracing fan. Mainly interested in Formula 1, MotoGP, World Superbike, and Grand-Am, I also have a more than passing interest in ALMS, IndyCar, and the Le Mans series. If it involves cars or motorcycles going fast around both left and right turns, I’d like to know about it. As an American living in rural Western Pennsylvania, the people I see most are generally unaware of these sports. Hence, this website (founded July 27, 2009).

I also write for Formula1Blog as the Senior Contributing Editor (my op-ed column “VMR on Sunday” by Victoria debuted November 18, 2009). I write F1B’s Formula1 practice and qualifying reports and the Grand Prix Redux race report, as well as the occasional appearance on the F1B podcast. I am also the WSBK correspondent for Asphalt & Rubber.

As I have been writing about roadracing for the past two years, I’ve found that attempting to cover the sports I love like a real journalist while also putting my heart and soul into the family business as my career takes my enjoyment away from both. I’m sorry to say that the flow of information here has trickled down to the re-posting of my F1B reports for Formula1 practice, qualifying, and races.

I cover all the on-track F1 action there and have been lazy enough to simply re-post those comprehensive reports. I have discontinued my MotoGP race reports here after a lack of interest in them (from readers, not my own lack of interest in MotoGP racing!). For now, I’m continuing as I have, with the F1B reports and writing over at Asphalt & Rubber…but should interest (and the possibility of gainful employment) increase, so too will the reporting here.

For now, most of my opinions on racing (and, I must say, life) have been appearing on Twitter. Please follow me if you like my reporting style and the opportunity to join one of the best roadracing fan communities available. If you like what you read, please tell your friends and follow me on Twitter and the site on Facebook.  Not on Twitter? just use James Allen’s F1 Twitter compilation service and find me here.

If you’d like to link to me, feel free to do so.  If you’d like to re-post what I’ve written in its entirety or any of my photographs, please contact me before doing so. You will not see a picture posted at OASTD that was not taken by me or an otherwise credited photographer. Thanks to everyone who has made the past two years so enjoyable!

    • Thanks! I took a very quick look at your site, and it looks very nice…same theme, isn’t it?
Great to see more support for F1 in the States, fell free to email anytime.

  2. Hi Victoria. Good to see the site’s going from strength to strength. We must get around to featuring you in our Anoraks with Heels section soon… MD

    • H! Thanks, everything has been going swimmingly, actually. Glad to see you guys are back at Sweet F1: funny stuff so far this season. I’d love to be involved, so just send me an email and we’ll work out when and how.

believe it or not I just had a conversation this week about the Pgh Vintage Grand Prix setting up with a local watering hole to gather F1 fans together in the ‘burgh. Drop me a note if you would like to chat about it. There are a very healthy, albiet, little known group of F1 fans here…. and discovering more and more…
