MotoGP: Rossi to Ride at Misano, Tomorrow

What Happens When It’s Crazy, But Apparently True

3:46pm EST — According to a report at GPOne.com, Valentino Rossi will be riding a production Yamaha R1 tomorrow (Wednesday, July 7) at Misano to “to verify his physical condition following the double compound fracture of his tibia and fibula,” according to the article at the English version of the Italian racing news site.  The article also states that “the news is now official,” indicating that this is not merely speculation, but that the Italian, who has many rumors about his fitness and contract for the 2011 season swirling about, will actually be riding.  We wait to see what happens and how soon Rossi will return, though his test rider replacement has certainly not been matching either teammate Lorenzo nor satellite rider Ben Spies’ pace in his single race run so far.  Finally, the article notes, “Rossi is likely to test in the late afternoon, in a closed track/closed doors session.  Later in the evening a press statement from the rider will be released.”  Look for more information here at OASTD when available.
