F1 News: Petrov Finally Announced, Sauber and Renault Launched

What Happens When Late Is Better Than Never, Part 1

10:24pm EST — In Formula1 news just a little bit late, on Sunday the Renault and Sauber teams launched their 2010 cars the day before winter testing began for the new season.  Similarly, though it was no surprise after rumors and the man himself wandering around the Renault motorhome earlier in the day, Renault announced that Robert Kubica’s teammate is the first Russian F1 championship driver, Vitaly Petrov.  With reports suggesting that he brought $15 million in personal sponsorship, he is both a monetary investment and a has solid history in GP2 and Formula Renault.

For the best comparison photos of the old Renault and Sauber versus the 2010 versions, as usual see the Renault top, front, and side pictures and the Sauber side and front pictures from F1Fanatic.  Similarly, analysis of the overall field changes from 2009 to 2010 will be posted once the Red Bull team unveils their 2010 car at the next test session.
