ToyotaF1: Kobayashi Replaces Injured Glock for Season Finale

What Happens When Another Chance to Shine Is Available

642:am EST — Toyota announced Tuesday that Kamui Kobayashi will continue to replace injured Timo Glock for the Abu Dhabi GP Sunday.  Kobayashi, the reigning GP2 Asia champion, made his Formula1 debut in Brazil, replacing Glock whose crash during qualifying in Japan left him with a cut leg, and what was later determined to be a fractured vertebra.  John Howett, Toyota motorsports president, said Tuesday, “Having discussed the medical advice with Timo and his management, the team has decided to take no risk and to put Kamui in the car.  Kamui performed well in Brazil in difficult circumstances so we are happy to ask him to once again deputize.”  Kobayashi finished the Brazilian GP tenth, after giving multiple drivers, including new champion Jenson Button, a hard going around him.
