Williams to Use Cosworth Engines in 2010

What Happens When It’s Not Official, but Might as Well Be

9:32am EST — According to Autosport, Williams will be using Cosworth engines for the 2010 season.  While the team currently runs Toyota engines, it was officially announced last week that the two companies would not be contracted for next season.  Williams was considering Renault and Cosworth as possible engine suppliers, but Autosport published Monday that “high level sources at the French car manufacturer have revealed that Williams has now informed the company that it is no longer interested in a tie-up for next year.”  This leaves Cosworth, which Williams engineering director Patrick Head praised as “certainly very committed to it and working hard.”  Williams has said that the team will not officially announced their 2010 engine supplier until the off-season.
