WSBK Mangy-Cours Race 1: Spies Takes Title Lead Again, Barely

What Happens When There’s No Stopping Them Now

9:16am EST — After a slow start by Noriyuki Haga, Ben Spies took the lead of the 2009 World Superbike Race 1 at Mangy-Cours.  Despite being held up by third place finisher Max Biaggi, Haga caught up with Spies and fought him, even taking the lead on the last lap, though Spies finished the race the winner.  Spies also took the lead in the championship, again, by two points over Haga.
