MotoGP Estoril: Lorenzo Bridges Gap in Points with Win, Rossi 4th

What Happens When the Title is Going Down to the Wire

9:27am EST — Jorge Lorenzo reminded champion teammate Valentino Rossi that he will not be counted out for the championship just yet with a dominant win of the 2009 Portuguese GP at Estoril.  Rossi finished fourth after Lorenzo grabbed the lead from Dani Pedrosa, who beat pole sitter Lorenzo at the start, and Lorenzo continued to pull out a gap back to third-place finisher Pedrosa.  In a surprising return to form, still ill Casey Stoner finished second in his first race after a three-race break.  Rossi leads Lorenzo by eighteen points in the championship.
