Johnny Rea to Stay at Ten Kate Honda in WSBK for 2010 and 2011

What Happens When a Win Does One Good

8:14am EST— At Imola, it was confirmed that recent race-winner Johnny Rea would be riding for Ten Kate Honda in the 2010 and 2011 WorldSBK championships.  Team manager Ronald ten Kate said, “We already had an ongoing two-year agreement with Jonathan from last year, but it was just at a basic level. It needed an upgrade, so we now have a fine-tuned version after his impressive results this season.”  Rea himself said, after a rookie season in WorldSBK in which he has performed better than teammates Carlos Checa and Ryuichi Kiyonari, “now the challenge for me is to help to turn it into a championship-winning package.”  Rea is fourth in the WSBK championship, with Ben SPies, Noriyuki Haga, and Michel Fabrizio ahead of him.  There is still much speculation as to who will be riding the team’s other bike.
