Ducati’s Rider-Switching Saga Continues

What Happens When Someone Else Needs To Contest a Championship

— Michel Fabrizio was always going to return to World Superbike.  He’s trying to stop Ben Spies from winning the championship in the championship hunt and could not stay on the Pramac Ducati Mika Kallio vacated to substitute for the ill Casey Stoner.  The only thing left was knowing who would replace Fabrizio.  Today, Ducati have confirmed that Spanish rider Alex Espargaro will fill in for Kallio.  The rider, who is making his premier class debut at Indianapolis, was left without a full 125 or 250 ride for this season.  He did impress with substitute appearances at Assen and the Sachsenring, so here’s to hoping that someone other than Casey Stoner can ride the Ducati well.
