Will F1 Be Back at Silverstone in 2010?

What Happens When Donington Park Might Not Get Its Act Together

— According to reports from Crash.net, Donington Park developer (and man in charge of making the necessary improvements so the track is F1-ready) Simon Gillett has hired Jayne McGivern’s Red Grouse Properties to hasten the time-driven modifications.  The modification details are discussed in an interview with Gillett in the April issue of F1 Racing magazine.  Unfortunately, it may be too late for such measures to succeed.  There is little time to finish the developments before Donington Park is set to hold next season’s GP.

However, there are some disturbing facts that highlight just how unprepared Donington Park can be.  According to Cycle News, an American motorcycle racing weekly: the pub at the circuit, the only one for miles around, closed at 8pm on Saturday of the recent MotoGP race weekend.  This was the last MotoGP race at Donington Park until it returned to Silverstone, which would hold the F1 British GP if Donington cannot, according to this statement by Bernie a week or so ago.
